Where the Arts, History, Culture, and Architecture Converge

New Mexico’s Arts and Cultural Districts Museums, theatres, arts galleries and studios, historic New Mexico buildings, districts, hotels and B&B’s, fine dining, funky cafés and coffee shops, bookstores and so much more to explore.

New Mexico is well-known in the creative community as a distinctive destination for arts, culture, and heritage. With special efforts focused on developing and showcasing local arts and culture, the communities of Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Los Alamos, Raton, Silver City, and Taos each offer an authentic and memorable experience for those seeking to absorb – and even be transformed by – our state’s diversity of arts and cultural traditions.

AlbuquerqueAlbuquerque - The Downtown Albuquerque Arts & Culture District is a creative crossroads, at the intersection of art, performance, technology and New Mexico's film industry. Downtown is perfectly positioned at the confluence of energy, style, innovation and enterprise.

Las vegasLas Vegas- The Main- Street Las Vegas Corridor stretches from the 1898 Railroad Depot in the east, through New Town along Douglas Avenue, and west to Plaza Park. It was defined by the historic route taken by horse drawn trolleys which ran from 1881 until 1901 when electric trolleys were introduced.

Los AlamosLos Alamos - A portion of downtown Los Alamos was designated a New Mexico Arts and Culture District by the state of New Mexico in 2009. It’s one of six in the state and the focus is to share the unique creative heritage of Los Alamos with residents and visitors.

RatonRaton - The downtown Arts and Cultural District is seeking to highlight the impressive number of venues and activities in the area, striving to make Raton "Northeastern New Mexico's Center for the Arts." In addition to many galleries and museums, the town also boasts a youth theater, dance school and a performing arts school.

Silver CitySilver City - The Silver City Arts and Cultural District is a distinctive area in Silver City where historic architecture, an excellent eclectic mix of design, niche businesses, and a concentration of artistic and cultural activities foster civic pride, provide opportunities for local creative enterprise, and contribute to a unique, authentic, and stimulating experience for residents and visitors.

TaosTaos - Taos Arts and Cultural District~located in a high desert valley, ringed by the magnificent Sangre de Christo mountains and the Rio Grande Gorge, lies Taos; a place where exceptional light, color, nature, and three distinct cultures with deep traditions have inspired creative minds for more than 400 years.
