Panoche

Panoche is a fudge made with brown sugar and butter and milk and nuts.

Panoche Recipe:

1 cup milk
3 cups light brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pound english walnut meats (chopped fine)

Directions:

1. Boil the milk with the brown sugar until it candies
2. Just before it is done, add the butter and vanilla extract
3. Add the walnuts just before taking the candy from the fire. Stir the nuts in thoroughly, and pour the mixture into buttered tins.
4. With a sharp knife divide at once into squares.
