In 1997, Native American-owned tribal casinos became legal in New Mexico with the signing of the gaming compacts. Since then, 13 tribes have opened 14 casinos, and visitors can now play slot machines, blackjack, bingo, keno, poker and baccarat in casinos across New Mexico. In addition, there are several non-Native American casinos.

Inn of the Mountain Gods - Situated high in the picturesque mountains of Mescalero, close to Ruidoso
Isleta Gaming Palace West - Great gaming—bingo, blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, and 1,700 slots—and food at Isleta Pueblo, just south of Albuquerque
Jicarilla Inn and Casino - Small casino in Dulce
Ohkay Casino and Resort - Located just north of Española at Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, play blackjack and work the slots (700!), then take a break at the Harvest Cafe restaurant
