It has become a holiday-time tradition in New Mexico for our game to be on a Saturday during the holiday season. Kicking off the bowl season has been tremendous for the event and a chance to showcase Albuquerque and New Mexico to a national audience, to host another exciting game and for local fans to come out and enjoy a terrific event.
Last year’s Gildan New Mexico Bowl saw the Temple Owls beat the Wyoming Cowboys 37-15 in the first game of the bowl season. The inaugural New Mexico Bowl was played on December 23, 2006 when San Jose State defeated New Mexico 20-12.
