The New Mexico Route 66 Association works with communities statewide to promote, preserve and protect Route 66.
Through our magazine, website and outreach programs we highlight a variety of events across the state.
Historic Route 66 runs parallel to I-40 from Glen Rio to Gallup and continues to contribute to the allure and legend of many towns in New Mexico. In fact, the pre-1937 alignment still claims Route 66 as their own and draws tourists and travelers looking for part of the history.
We encourage you to rediscover the historic and cultural landmarks along the Mother Road. The many attractions include museums, classic restaurants, diners, curio and gift shops, vintage motels and historic sites.
