Tour de Acoma

Tour de Acoma is a 100, 50 and 25-mile bike challenge covering some of the most breathtaking lands on the Acoma and Laguna Pueblo reservations. An all-paved course that offers both the experienced and recreational cyclist a challenging and rare opportunity to ride through normally restricted tribal lands, this competitive course features opportunities for high speed racing as well as defying uphill endurance tests.

Hike It & Spike It

An estimated 25,000 players and spectators gather each Memorial Day Weekend when flag-football teams from across the country battle it out in the annual “Hike It & Spike It” Four-On-four Flag Football Tournament.  The world’s largest annual flag football tournament, this is not only a treat for the participants; it is a hoot for the spectators that descend on this Southeast New Mexico city.

Tour de Gila

The Tour of the Gila is one of the most challenging and iconic stage races in the U.S. The Tour of the Gila began in 1987 and is now confirmed by the international cycling’s governing body as a 2.2 category race. ’Gila’ has the feel of European racing with the winding, narrow mountain roads in the Gila National Forest and the grass-roots appeal of the historic town of Silver City, New Mexico. The race has 8 categories and the ever popular criterium races on Saturday with racing all day and an EXPO with live music, food, vendors, kid zone and beer garden.

Tour de Ruidoso

This challenging bike race through the mountains surrounding Ruidoso gives you three events to choose from; Century Ride (100 miles), 100K (62 miles), and the Flat-20 Miler. Beginning with a climb from 6840 to 7485, a downhill and a climb back to 7482 and then dropping down to 7257 ... and this is in the first 6 miles!

Gildan New Mexico Bowl

Since it's inception in 2006, the New Mexico Bowl has been played on the Saturday afternoon before Christmas at University Stadium on the University of New Mexico campus. The contest has pitted the Mountain West Conference against the Western Athletic Conference in the state's only annually nationally televised sporting event.

Santa Fe Thunder Half Marathon

Santa Fe Thunder Half Marathon is Northern New Mexico's premier distance running event. The point-to-point course is 1,000’ net downhill and runs from historic Fort Marcy in the heart of Santa Fe down the Old Taos Highway into the red-rock Rio Grande Valley, passing between the 13,000’ Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the east and the 11,000’ Jemez Mountains to the west. Runners will pass by the Santa Fe Opera, Tesuque Village Market and the Pueblo of Tesuque before entering the Pueblo of Pojoaque and finish at the magnificent Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino. For those who desire a shorter challenge, the 5K run and one-mile fitness walk will be held at Buffalo Thunder, and scheduled so that participants will finish in time to see the half marathoners arrive.
