Artist Studio Tours

Throughout the year local arts communities organize studio tours in small communities around the state. It is a great way to explore New Mexico, see a variety of new and traditional art, meet artists and eat great food.

Abiquiu Studio Tour

Discover a new world each fall Columbus Day Weekend as more than Abiquiú artists open their studios to friends, old and new, during one of the most beautiful times of the year in Northern New Mexico – fall. The Abiquiú Studio Tour is a self-guided, driving tour that takes visitors and collectors through the village of Abiquiu and the surrounding Chama River Valley–a landscape of imposing mountains, spectacular rock formations, and the glorious rivers of the Piedra Lumbra basin. Complimentary maps are available at all the studios, local businesses and online for download.


Alameda Studio Tour

Alameda is home to many established and emerging fine artists and skilled craftspeople.  In 2011, a group of these artists got together and formed the first annual Alameda Studio Tour.  Twenty-five artists opened their studios to the public, inspiring, educating, and offering their work for sale. The event experienced great success and has grown each year.  38 artists in 15 studios welcoming visitors to learn about and purchase their art.

Alto Artist's Studio Tour

Come celebrate the artistic community of Alto, New Mexico, (8 miles north of Ruidoso). Learn about the art, inspiration and techniques from the artists themselves. Catering to international visitors, locals and art lovers, the annual Alto Artists' Studio Tour offers a unique opportunity to engage with Lincoln County's painters, sculptors, wood, fiber and glass artists.

Rio Costilla Studio Tour

We are a thriving group of twenty-five plus artists and craftspeople living in the watershed of the Rio Costilla. 

For the past 17 years we have held our annual September studio tour in which we open
our homes, studios and galleries to the public for two days of celebrating art and fine craft,
good food, friendship, and renewal through art. Our work includes painting, print-making,
photography, bronze sculpture, wood and stone carving, fine and rustic furniture, ceramics,
African drums, artisan bread-baking, and a tour of spectacular wild flower fields in full bloom.

Chama Valley Studio Tour

The Chama Valley Studio Tour is a free event open to the public.

Children and pets are welcome at most stops.

Artists open their studios and display their work for each year at the Chama Valley Studio Tour.

From the Village of Chama on the north, Chama West, Brazos Canyon, Los Ojos and Tierra Amarilla on the south.

Corrales Studio Tour

For two days each May, artists open their studios and share with the public original paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, jewelry, carvings, furniture, glass, ceramics, fine crafts and more. This is your opportunity to learn more about art, the processes, and individual artists in an one-on-one environment.


Dixon Studio Tour

The Dixon Studio Tour is a cooperative effort with the various artists performing all of the jobs from preparing the map to painting signs as well as coordinating the whole event. The local community has also been included with the formation of "The Mercado" which takes place at the public school and features many home grown and homemade local products. The "Collected Works" show, features an outstanding piece of work by each of the artists on the tour. 

The Dixon Studio Tour occurs every November.

Eldorado Studio Tour

Every spring, our artists will open their studios in May from 10am-5pm. more than 80 artists will be showcasing work in a variety of media and genres including painting, ceramic, drawing, glass, jewelry, oil, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood, and digital, fiber, wearable and recycled art.

The Tour weekend kicks off Friday with an artist reception from 5-7pm at the Eldorado Community Center. Here you'll meet the artists and have another opportunity to view their work.


Galisteo Studio Tour

Just a few minutes south of the historic city of Santa Fe is the village of Galisteo centered in the magnificent Galisteo basin.  This all adobe village of some 250 residents boasts of an incredibly diverse artist population.  These artists, drawn by the natural beauty of our high desert surroundings and breathtaking sunsets, have made Galisteo their home.

As you wind your way through the many studios of Galisteo, you’ll see photography, paintings, pottery and ceramic art, retablos, jewelry, bronze sculpture, weavings, many hand crafted local arts as well as tasty local fare.

High Mesa Studio Tour

Each spring the High Mesa Artists Studio Tour is held in Nogal, New Mexico. This year 14 local artists will present their works at 7 different studios along the tour route. Studios begin near the intersection of NM Highways 48 and 37 and continue along NM Hwy 37 to Nogal. Please join us on this self-guided tour for a relaxing day on the scenic high mesa just minutes north of Ruidoso, New Mexico.


High Road Artisans Art Tour

The High Road to Taos Scenic Byway is a lovely, winding road through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains between Santa Fe and Taos. It offers magnificent vistas of snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, and charming traditional Spanish and Pueblo villages.

This lovely scenery has inspired many artists and artisans who live along the High Road. We welcome you to come, explore, and help sustain the rural economy of this charming, centuries-old region. Always the last two weekends of September.

Las Vegas

Historic Las Vegas Art Studio Tour

From the art scene to the local cuisine, the Historic Las Vegas Art Studio Tour is heating things up. The free tour sponsored by the Las Vegas Arts Council occurs every September, and highlights the artistic talent of many northeastern New Mexico artists and artisans. The exciting three-day tour will feature multiple stops featuring a wide range of works (painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, photography, traditional Spanish art, street art, mixed media and more).


Lincoln County Studio Tour

Art Loop began as a creative venture amongst artists 20 years ago and continues to be one of the most successful studio tours in New Mexico. Throughout Lincoln County artists will open their studios, demonstrate their craft and discuss their creative process creating much more than simply a vibrant art market. Our hope is that your inner artist will come alive as you enjoy the finest art Lincoln County has to offer and let us give you a little glimpse into what makes us tick as artists.​  Many artists will be offering demonstrations in their studios.

Los Alamos

Los Alamos Artists Studio Tour

The studio tour provides a unique opportunity for Los Alamos. While our town’s history is steeped in science and nature, we also host a plethora of creative talent. We’re giving visitors a chance to get a behind the scenes view of our rich artistic culture. 

We’re planning an art themed weekend in Los Alamos, getting as many people in the community involved as possible. Along with our own artist tour, the Fuller Lodge Art Center will also be hosting its annual Arts & Crafts Fair which brings around 800 visitors to the town. That same weekend, the brand new Ceramics Club will be making their debut, there will be an SCA event on the lawn at Fuller Lodge, and the annual Pajarito Trail Run will also be taking place!

Pecos Studio Tour

The Pecos Studio Tour is made up of a loosely knit group of artists living in and around the village of Pecos in northeastern New Mexico. Located 20 minutes from Santa Fe (I-25 North), our small community hosts a blend of unique people. Besides artists in all media, many residents have long historic and cultural ties to the area.

Situated on the east side of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Pecos enjoys four beautiful seasons. With clean air and wonderful light, it's the perfect atmosphere for creating inventive art. Our mountains also offer great outdoor recreation.

Pilar Studio Tour

The idyllic village of Pilar is set on the banks of the picturesque Rio Grande. The artists from the village of Pilar will open their homes and studios to showcase their works in acrylic, oil, watercolor, pottery, ceramic, pastel, silk painting & fiber art.  Strolling along the river you will meet renowned painters, potters and fiber artists.

The Pilar Studio Tour is popular because of the close proximity of the artist's locations (mostly walkable), the friendliness of its artists and the inspiring beauty of the natural landscape along the Rio Grande.

Placitas Studio Tour

On Mother’s Day weekend, fifty-eight Placitas artists  “Open Their Doors” to the public at fifty studios, offering a wide array of fine arts — paintings, wearable art, photography, ceramics, woodworking, glass art, jewelry, mosaics, sculptures, metalwork, and mixed media, including found and re-cycled objects.

This is always a great opportunity to explore the unique studios scattered throughout the scenic foothills of the northern Sandias, where one can meet and talk with the artists about their work and discover the fascinating and varied working environments where they create. 


Pojoaque River Art Tour

The Pojoaque River Art Tour a uniquely Northern New Mexico tri-cultural art experience, includes 12 stops and twenty-four artists and artisans.

The journey through Pojoaque's inspired ambience can still be navigated in a single day. As they follow the tour, art-watchers will be rewarded with a wide array of paint and print styles and media, including contemporary and traditional oil and acrylic paintings, mixed media, assemblage, monotypes, Sumi-e, watercolor, egg tempera, gouache and pastel. Artists and artisans will also unveil original works in photography, jewelry, sculpture, ironwork, weaving and ceramics. Some will be involved in works-in-progress and provide demonstrations.

Santa Fe Studio Tour

Studio Tour Dates: Last two weekends in June!

5 Days 2 Weekends 68 Artists 44 Studios

A free, self-guided tour open to the public, visitors can choose to tour any number of the 44 open studios and discover the original art – paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics and other unique works — 68 Santa Fe artists. Many artists give demonstrations of their craft, share techniques and discuss what inspired their work.


Tao Studio Tour

Come view the working studios of Taos area artists. Meet the artists and see the vast array of art. Not only do you get to see wonderful art from pottery to paintings, jewelry to glass, photography, digital art, to stain glass, fabric art, sculpture to woodworking, you also get to see the studios where the artists spend their creative time and grab a drink and snack at each location.  Drive your car or make it a bike tour!  Tour guides are available a few months prior to the event. Maps are available at the Taos Visitors Center and at the individual studios.
