Maria Teresa Restaurant

Maria Teresa Restaurant

Central region of New MexicoWandering the rambling rooms of Maria Teresa Restaurant in Albuquerque are at least four different ghosts, whose detailed visages have been witnessed by both staff and patrons alike.

The Armijo Room

A middle-aged, Hispanic woman with dark hair with streaks of gray running through it and wearing full-length white dress decorated with small, white beads about the collar and bosom, wanders around the room and rearranges silverware.

The Sarachino Room

A middle-aged, Hispanic woman with light-colored eyes and dark hair, wearing a red dress and smelling of perfume, has appeared at the doorway leading into the dining room. She is believed to be one of the daughters of Mr. Armijo, the house's original owner.

The Chacon Room

The reflection of the figure of a man in the dark suit, seated at the table, has appeared in the mirror. This ghost has a history of appearing only to people in the Chacon room.

The Zamora Room

The mirror in this room sometimes reflects the figure of a woman in her early 30s. She is poised and was obviously a woman of refinement. She has long black hair and wears a white dress with long sleeves and no jewelry.

The Bar

On October 20, 2000, a guest seated at a table in the bar room saw a man in chaps and a vest standing in the doorway. His wife was unable to see the spirit. The bar room cowboy was also spotted in the same doorway from the same table two years ago. Neither guest knew beforehand that the restaurant is haunted.

The Baca Room

Flatware and tables have been moved and unseen voices have been heard within this area. A busboy quit after coming across a whole roomful of spirits in the Board Room.
