Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch
Come experience a real western adventure!
Whether on horseback or hiking you will enjoy some of the most beautiful, unspoiled country in America. Visit 1000 year old Native American ruins which remain essentially untouched. Explore the canyons which sheltered the warrior Geronimo and fellow Apaches and outlaws such as Billy the Kid.
Riding and hiking will take you through gorgeous Ponderosa pine forests, steep canyons with crystal clear streams running through them, lush meadows (often with elk, mule deer, wild turkey or javelina), and to the “Top of the World” where 1000 square miles of the Gila National Forest may be viewed. The trails start as close as our backdoor and we have millions of acres to discover.
You won't find better riding anywhere! We have gentle, trustworthy horses that allow children and adults alike to build confidence in their riding skills and enjoy the magnificent scenery here on horseback. You will have a unique opportunity to discover the history of our region with a “hands on” approach as we hike and ride over the same trails as the ancient Mimbres, the Apaches and outlaws such as Billy the Kid. Along the way you will visit the border of Old Mexico, view Native American rock art, climb into dwellings over 1000 years old and actually hold shards of Mimbres pottery.
Besides horseback riding, a variety of family style indoor and outdoor games are available. Other activities that our guests enjoy are: swimming in our small pool or the creek, campfires at night with s'mores, entertainment and fantastic stargazing, fishing, treasure hunts, photography, horseback riding lessons or just reading a good book on one of our many bench swings.
Our cabins, which are nestled in the pines are large but cozy with fireplaces, queen sized beds twins and bunk beds, coffee maker, full bath/shower, reading chairs, magazines and books, snacks, table/chairs, covered porches, and a cookie jar filled with homemade goodies. They are furnished in a Native American style or a Cowboy motif.
Our meals are taken in the dining room or outside on our picnic tables. Some of our popular dishes include grilled salmon, rib eye steaks, blueberry pancakes, fresh fruits and vegetables and luscious deserts. We get many compliments on our fine dining and we can satisfy any dietary needs.
No lines or schedules here. Do as little or as much as you want. Warm hospitality, comfortable accommodations, great food, breathtaking scenery, fine horses, and a great western adventure await you!
