Roswell Jazz Festival Announces October Lineup Roswell, NM. - Roswell Jazz Festival 501 c(3) will be presenting the 12th annual Roswell Jazz Festival, October 18-22. The festival offers lively jazz shows in seven Roswell venues including several free concerts, a Roswell Jazz Festival “School of Jazz” workshop experience where student musicians will have the opportunity to perform for professionals, a piano showcase and an uplifting Jazz worship service. 28 world class jazz performers from around the nation have been invited to participate in this year’s event. Invited guests include guest of honor, clarinetist Allan Vaché of Riverwalk fame, his well-known brother, trumpeter Warren Vaché, legendary trombonist Dan Barrett, festival co-founder Dr. Roger Dickerson and a host of others. According to festival executive director Michael Francis, new and exciting, not to be missed shows include sensational NYC pianist Richard Dowling performing the complete works of Ragtime composer Scott Joplin, appearances by 90-year old legendary jazz vocalist Ernie Andrews and concerts featuring New Mexico’s blues and jazz sensation Hillary Smith.
