The Lea County Center for the Arts will host the 2017 Hobbs Municipal Schools District-Wide Elementary Art Show on Saturday, May 13th from 1-4pm. The show will include three separate receptions for three different groups of schools. The show will feature artwork by 1st place winners from each grade level at each Hobbs Elementary School. First place ribbons will be awarded to students from each school and light refreshments will be provided. The receptions are free and open to the public. The public will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite pieces during the receptions. Winning pieces will go on to be featured in Albuquerque during the New Mexico State Fair. Pieces will then continue to be displayed throughout the year at Lea Regional Medical Center’s Medical Arts Plaza in Hobbs. The reception times and groups are listed as follows: 1pm - College Lane, Stone, Mills, Sanger Elementary 2pm - Coronado, Taylor, Broadmoor, Murray, Will Rogers Elementary 3pm - Booker T. Washington, Edison, Jefferson, Southern Heights Elementary Students will also have the opportunity to sign up for the Hobbs Schools 21st CCLC FREE afterschool program, including the summer strings camp and STEM camp. Registrations will also be available for LCCA visual/performing summer art camps. The show will be on display at the Center for the Arts from May 13th - June 3rd.
