ANCIENT WAY FALL FESTIVAL RETURNS FOR ITS SIXTEENTH YEAR A great day of live music, food, and fun events for the whole family , just a mile from El Morro National Monument on Hwy 53 The Ancient Way Fall Fest on October 7th is back for its sixteenth year. It is a day long event from noon to 6 pm, celebrating the harvest times of the area community around El Morro National Monument. Candy Kitchen, Timberlake, Ramah, Zuni, El Morro, El Morro Ranches and others come together to offer a rich assortment of excitement with live entertainment, food, art and crafts, harvest displays, a photo contest, a dessert contest and cake walk, pumpkin carving challenge and much, much more. From 1:30 to 6 pm there will be live music starting with “The BillyHawks”, our local rock, roots, and blues band. At 3 pm, Native American Music Awards Artist of the Year Shelly Morningsong and Fabian Fontanelle will be there performing, and at 5 pm, the father and daughter musical trio, ” Rippy and the Sillyetes“ will play. Throughout the day there will food and craft vendors, animal pageantry, harvest displays, demonstrations of blacksmithing, knife-making, weaving, wood crafting, and other events. There will be cash prizes for winners of our photo and dessert contests, be sure to sign up soon if you are interested.
