A group of arts advocates, educators, and artists will convene for a panel discussion moderated by Sandy Zane to discuss the purpose and state of arts education, including panelists: Diego Suarez (NMSA VA Alumne, Juror), Cindy Monotya (President of NMSA), Joanne Lefrak (artist, SITE Santa Fe Education Director), Tuhran Dorsey (Former Chief of Education, City of Boston) and Karina Hean (VA Chair NMSA, artist, art educator). This talk was scheduled in conjunction with Homecoming, a juried alumni exhibition on view at form & concept.
Homecoming coincides with the opening of the new NMSA campus in the Railyard Arts District in Fall 2019. The Visual Arts Department aims to support the creative efforts and futures of its alumni through a continuing connection to the school, curriculum, and the vibrant neighborhood of partners and supporters in Santa Fe and the Railyard Arts District. Through participating in Homecoming, Visual Arts alumni can reconnect and also inspire the future of our school.
