Call For Work
Visions of Nature:
Contemporary Views in Alternative Photographic Techniques
In this time of isolation and uncertainty, nature became a refuge for many, a new experience for some and a muse for others. This exhibition welcomes work utilizing alternative photographic techniques referencing nature. Nature is defined loosely. Any aspect of the natural world can be referenced: plant, animal (including humans), the imaginary etc. Artists are asked to consider how their relationship with the natural world has been altered in recent years. Have external constraints shifted your images and your choice of processes?
Works created in the last two years are eligible. Acceptable processes include, but are not limited to, Cyanotype, Gum Bichromate, Van Dyke, Palladium/Platinum, Photopolymer Gravure, Copper Plate Gravure, Salt, Tintype, Silver Gelatin, Chemigrams, Phytograms, Lumens, Chromogenic prints, Hand applied emulsions, Photo-encaustic, Carbon, Gumoil, Instant transfers and lifts, and Hand-manipulated (altered surface) digital prints. Combinations of these processes are welcome. Digital photographic images can be used in combination with other processes, but straight digital prints will not be accepted. 3D and experimental work is encouraged.
Deadline to Submit: July 7th.
