On Saturday, April 25, 2020, the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) in Albuquerque hosts its second annual NHCC Children’s Bilingual Book Festival, the only one of its kind in the U.S. that features children’s books in Spanish and English and Native languages and English. The festival features author readings, student storytelling and poetry, a book fair, entertainment, workshops for parents and teachers, and creative and book-related activities for young readers (K-6) and their families. The day begins with a broadcast of The Children's Hour, a weekly public radio show produced with and for kids of all ages.
The event is free and open to the public. See the festival website for the full schedule of authors and activities: www.nhccbookfest.com
The festival is a partnership between the NHCC and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Bookworks, Artful Life, The Public Library (City of Albuquerque), Dual Language Education of New Mexico (DLENM), REFORMA, and UNM Press.
