Long before snapbacks and partying dominated country music Clay Walker was taking the industry by storm with his heartfelt lyrics of a hardworking Texans trying to make the most of life. His 1993 self-titled debut album peaked at no. 8 on the Billboard Country Charts bolstered by a staggering four no. 1 singles “What’s it to You,” “Live Until I Die,” and “Dreaming with My Eyes Open.” The hits rolled on and on for the Texas native following his debut with “If I Could Make a Living” in ’94, “Hypnotize the Moon” in ’95, “Rumor Has It” in ’97 and “Live, Laugh, Love” in ’99, all of which peaked inside the Billboard Country top 10. That success comes as no surprise when you factor in Walker’s 22 singles that peaked at no. 18 or higher, including six no.1 singles. Clay Walker makes his way to the Inn of the Mountain Gods Event Center on Friday, July 7.
