In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and in conjunction with the Hobbs Hispano Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Fiestas de Septiembre, LCCA is once again partnering with the Hobbs Hispano Chamber of Commerce & Foundation to present a new art exhibition at the Lea County Center for the Arts titled “Collage: A Hispanic Heritage Month Exhibition.” The exhibit will feature paintings by Hispanic artists such as Albuquerque painter, Sonia Luevano, Lovington’s Dante Rios, photography by Hobbs artists, Gilbert Valadez and Gina Bullard, and a special award-winning custom lowrider bicycle display by Jal’s, Gary Essman of the New Loco Car Club in Lea County. The art opening will take place on Saturday, August 12th from 5-7pm inside the Center for the Arts, located at 122 W Broadway in Downtown Hobbs. The reception will be free & open to the public. Light refreshments and live music by local Latin music instructor/musician, Mary Anderson and her students will be provided. Most artwork will be for sale. The exhibit will be on display until Sep 30th at the Center for the Arts.
