Sculptors, potters, painters working in every media, designer jewelers, and photographers share their creative processes on Santa Fe’s historic Canyon Road at the tenth annual Paint & Sculpt Out. They will be creating new works of art along the road in sculpture gardens and inside the intimate adobe interiors of the historic art district.
Artists will be interacting with visitors and discussing their techniques throughout the day. According to Canyon Road Merchant’s Association Secretary Nancy Ouimet, “Artists and collectors love the event. It’s a rare opportunity for them to connect. I often hear collectors say, ‘I have followed this artist for years and it is so nice to finally meet.’”
Collectors have opportunities to acquire new works of art at Silent Auctions and through private commissions. As a collector, whether you prefer art that is contemporary, abstract, modern, expressionistic, figurative, photorealistic, traditional, western or Native American, it’s all here.
What’s new – This year the focus is on artists who call the southwest their home. Born here, drawn here, came and couldn’t leave. They say it’s the barren landscapes, the constantly changing skies, the light . . . an indescribable aura. Experience it for yourself.
More than 100 artists are expected at the tenth annual event including Painters, Sculptors, Potters, Photographers, and Weavers. What sets this event apart from others is that there are so many different types of artists who will be demonstrating their creative processes
• Paintings in oil and acrylic; watercolors
• Drawings in pastel, charcoal, pen and ink, graphite
• 2 and 3D mixed media works
• Photography and digital artwork
