Hubbell Trading Post Navajo Rug Trunk Show Fri, Sat & Sun, August 18-20 9 AM - 5 PM daily Bandelier National Monument, NM Learn about historic Indian trading and the living artistic legacy of Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site, the oldest continuously operating trading post in the Southwest. The show will feature hundreds of exquisite hand-woven Navajo rugs. There will also be weaving demonstrations throughout the day, and special talks at 10AM and 2PM each day. Hubbell Trading Post trader Edison Eskeets will describe the history, symbolism, and artistry of the rugs. Eskeets will also discuss how rugs are created, and how to choose and care for them. Coinciding with the Santa Fe Indian Market just minutes from Bandelier, anyone with an interest in Native arts and crafts should not miss this opportunity to explore nature, history and art all in one weekend.
