This exhibition, installed in the free-standing studio J.H. Sharp built behind his Taos home in 1915, covers the artist’s entire career and includes numerous works of art, correspondence, and Native American artifacts that he collected and which appeared in his paintings. Each summer the exhibition is refreshed with new artwork and ephemera.
The permanent rotating exhibition is at the Couse-Sharp Historic Site, 146 Kit Carson Road in Taos. Besides the First Saturday 3-5 p.m. open house each month from July through September, the show can be seen during the full docent tour of the historic site. Tours are available by appointment only.
