Join landscape photographer Chris Sandberg for a one-day class to polish your photo-taking skills. A group of no more than four students will spend the day learning at the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument and on the Turquoise Trail. Tent Rocks is an amazing natural wonderland about an hour drive from Albuquerque, with cone-shaped tent rock formations with boulder caps - all at over 5500 feet above sea level. It is really a unique part of the New Mexico landscape. The Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway is 50 miles of travelling back into the history of New Mexico. The photo opportunities are varied and often surprising. The class will start early on Saturday morning at Tent Rocks to beat the crowds, and get good outdoor light. Lunch will be at the Black Meas Casino, with lots of time for questions and discussion. Then students will head east to Highway 14, and check out the sights on the southern end of the Trail. It will be a busy day, with personal attention for every student and myriad opportunities for students to expand their creative and technical photo skills. Students will have the opportunity to work with lighting, composition, camera control and choices, widely varied subjects, and (most important) seeing the images that inspire them! If you are new to digital photography or want to advance your existing skills, this class will help you do that, in a collegial and low-stress setting.
