Taos Jazz Bebop Society presents four giants of jazz improvisation in a matinee concert that will inspire and delight. Led by Peter Erskine, one of the most respected drummers in modern jazz, the group released in 2019 the highly acclaimed “Three Nights In LA”– featuring tenor sax master, George Garzone. Saxophonist Michael Brecker once said, “I’m not the master of the tenor sax, George Garzone is.” Jim Worsley of All About Jazz describes their music as “… the epitome of live improvisational jazz, played with both freedom of expression and pure joy.”
All four players have illustrious jazz credentials too long to detail here. Leading the group is Erskine – with 700 albums and film scores to his credit, two Grammy awards and an Honorary Doctorate from the Berklee School of Music. He was voted “Best Jazz Drummer of the Year” ten times by the readers of Modern Drummer Magazine.
This concert is presented in partnership with the Western Jazz Presenters Network (WJPN), the Santa Fe Music Collective, and the Outpost Performance Space.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or recent negative COVID test is required for entry.
