In order to ensure the safety of our community during the COVID-19 outbreak, this event has been POSTPONED. It will be rescheduled when appropriate.
On Saturday, April 11, Ceramic Artist Alissa Mittl will be featured at the Taos Art Museum’s “Meet the Artist” event. Ask questions, see her wonderful carved clay creations, and partake in complimentary coffee, lemonade and treats.
Mittl is originally from southwest Florida and her work has shown both locally and nationally. She was as a ceramic Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center (CA) for two years. Mittl then spent a year teaching and making artwork as a Resident Artist at Taos Clay. She now lives, works, makes and sells her art in Taos.
“I am endlessly inspired by the natural world and often stop, in a frenzy, to sketch the New Mexican landscape when driving. I then translate this sketch into a tangible carving in clay. Nearly all of the imagery that appears on my work began as a plein air sketch of an actual plant, animal, or landscape that captivated me.” -Alissa Mittl
