Viewing the night sky from an expansive meadow far from city lights is a truly special experience. Grab your telescopes, camp chairs, and blankets and join preserve rangers and educators from PEEC in mutual appreciation of the night sky! Learn about celestial objects while gazing through high powered telescopes. Practice your night photography and listen to the night sounds of the Valle Grande. Junior Rangers can partcipate in night-themed activities and earn their Night Explorers patch! Gates will open at 6:30 pm and will close by 8:00 pm in order to lessen light pollution in the event area, so please come early! The preserve will close by 10:00 pm. Temperatures will drop once the sun goes down, so bundle up in layers! Please assure flashlights or headlamps have a red lens or red covering to safeguard night vision. As parking is limited, please carpool if possible. In the case of poor weather, the event may end early or be canceled.
