Every year Taos School of Music hosts 19 talented young musicians on the cusps of their professional career. This year they are between the ages of 18 and 29 and come from nine of the top music schools; Juilliard, New England Conservatory, Curtis, Colburn, Yale, Boston University, Northwestern, University of Illinois/Urbana, and Indiana University/Bloomington. During their 8 weeks in Taos, they undergo study with three world renown string quartets: the Borromeo String Quartet, Shanghai Quartet, and the Brentano String Quartet. Additionally they study with pianists Robert McDonald (also Artistic Director), Thomas Sauer, and our newest faculty member, violinist Ara Gregorian.
