Santa Fe Pro Musica presents The Jacobsen Brothers. The program opens with Jessie Montgomery’s Records of a Vanishing City, inspired by her multicultural experiences living in Brooklyn; followed Mozart’sViolin Concerto No. 5, “Turkish,” where the puckish composer juxtaposes the well-behaved violinist playing a courtly minuet with its alter ego playing fiddle in a Turkish bazaar. The concert then concludes with Beethoven’s beloved Symphony No. 7.
Eric Jacobsen (“interpretive dynamo,” New York Times) conducts the Pro Musica Orchestra and his brother Colin Jacobsen (“born to the instrument and its sweet, lyrical possibilities,” New York Times) will be Mozart’s violinist and fiddler.
