Join us this year for the 9th Annual Tour de Ocho Millas on September 21, 2019! This cycling event follows the historic eight mile loop around New Mexico’s Bottomless Lakes State Park that was once home to “America’s most incredible road racing circuit,” the Las Ocho Millas (Road and Track, August 1967). Whether you race or take your time, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and the newly repaved and reconditioned track. The race will start at 8:00 am at the Lea Lake Recreation Center within the park.
Tour de Ocho Millas will follow the eight-mile route that encircles Bottomless Lakes State Park, a nationally registered park situated in the high desert near Roswell, New Mexico.
The Tour will offer a metric century ride with shorter options for riders of all abilities (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, or 64 miles). The event will be chip-timed by Jackrabbit Race Productions who will record each lap for each cyclist.
The course has a few demanding hills, but the rider is rewarded with fantastic views overlooking the lakes as well as impressive views of the Pecos Valley. Along the way, cyclists will be refreshed at “power stops” to hydrate and refuel.
The race will start at 8:00 am at the Lea Lake Recreation Center within the park. Riders MUST wear a helmet!
