Wildlife West’s zoo is one of the few places where people can be close to and observe native wildlife in their natural habitat. Get a behind the scenes tour of Koshari, a 500 pound black bear, get eye to eye with 2 young cougars and see the newest arrivals – Bob the bobcat and 4 adorable, tree climbing grey foxes. Tours start at 10 a.m. and run each hour throughout the day. See a special feather film “Phoenix Wilder and the Great Elephant Adventure” about a lost orphan boy and a giant elephant who team up to take down poachers. The Herpetological Society will showcase their fascinating reptiles, along with representatives from other environmental organizations. Stay for the Chuckwagon BBQ, followed by live western swing music featuring the Watermelon Mountain Jug Band. Raptor free-flight presentation 6 p.m., dinner 7 p.m., music 8-9 p.m. RSVP required by 2 p.m. on day of show.
