New Mexico has a lot of PR projects in motion.  These projects span the state and have incorporated many local industry partners from across the Land of Enchantment:

TMS Family Travel Conference – Cabinet Secretary Latham attended the TMS Family Travel Conference in Clearwater, FL, and presented to an audience of forty top family travel journalists and digital influencers.  She showcased the New Mexico TRUE stories and gave insights into the brand.  Many journalists have already pitched stories to their editors.  Jennifer Lazraz was also onsite for the official announcement that Gallup won the bid to host the event in November 2018.  If your destination is interested in participating in the event and having an opportunity to meet the journalists and influencers who will attend, please email joanne@jveroassociates.com for more information.

Travel Media Showcase – In August, New Mexico Tourism Department along with many industry partners  met face-to-face with journalists from across the country.  After meeting with NMTD, Renee Gordon (Philadelphia Sun), and Kim Foley MacKinnon (AAA, Forbes and Boston Globe) traveled to New Mexico and made stops in: Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Madrid, Cerrillos, Silver City, Monticello, Pino Altos, Hatch, Las Cruces, White Sands, Lincoln, Roswell, and Fort Sumner.  Both indicated that the story of Billy the Kid was something that neither of them expected and that they particularly enjoyed The Wortley in Lincoln.  Thus far, Renee has produced one story (click here to read) and has more confirmed to publish in January.  Kim has one confirmed for an upcoming issue of a AAA magazine about her experience in a hot air balloon at Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.  As part of the follow-up with journalists NMTD met with at this show, we are confident that more journalists will be visiting.  If you are interested in being a part of the New Mexico row at the 2018 Travel Media Showcase to be held Sept. 11-14, 2018 in Niagara Falls USA, email joanne@jveroassociates.com to be placed on the list for special pricing will be extended to New Mexico destinations.

Hatch Chile Festival – Sherri Eisenberg attended the festival on assignment with Reader’s Digest.

USA Today – Hatch Green Chile will be featured in a Taste of the U.S. roundup for an online holiday gift guide that USA Today will soon publish.

May 2018 Group Press Trip [TBD] – NMTD will be hosting a group press trip for up to five journalists in May 2018 to showcase NW New Mexico.  Journalists have already begun requesting a spot on the invitation list.  NMTD will work with HUB to vet all interested journalists and select those who can offer the most opportunity in future press coverage.
