Award-winning artist Marla Allison (Laguna) has begun creating a new series of paintings to be displayed in a solo show called “Consumed by Design” at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. On Saturday, February 25, Allison will participate in a special three-hour reception to mark the show’s opening in the IPCC’s South Gallery. The public is invited to enjoy over a dozen new paintings and converse with both the artist and fellow art-lovers from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 2401 12th St NW, Albuquerque.

“Consumed by Design” will be an innovative show featuring new work that guests will be able to purchase from the artist through the IPCC. The exhibit will be on display through June, 2017.

Allison is known for vivid paintings that depict the landscapes, wildlife, architecture, and particularly the people of her native New Mexico, as well as for experimenting with geometric patterns to depict living forms. She deliberately draws from the artistic traditions of Laguna Pueblo in order to enrich her own work.
