Tier Two:
Tier II projects should be “shovel-ready” meaning that you have completed Tier I or similar and can begin construction in the near future.
Please see the grant guidelines for a full list of eligible projects and costs as well as required documentation for a successful application.
Both tracks in this tier will fund a 5% match for the successful and sustainable implementation of the project. If you are not able to meet the 5% match, you may indicate so on your application. Applicants who can provide a greater than 5% match may be given preference.
Tier II A: Construct and Equip – Up to $500,000
Tier II, Track A: Construct and Equip is available to applicants who have completed Tier IA or similar and can produce back-up documentation attesting to the completion of the planning phase.
This track will focus on supporting projects that aim to build and construct new tourism infrastructure.
Tier IIB: Modernize and Renovate - Up to $500,000
Tier II, Track B: Modernize and Renovate is available to applicants who have completed Tier IA or similar and can produce back-up documentation attesting to the completion of the planning phase.
This track will focus on supporting projects that aim to upgrade, innovate and/or renovate existing tourism infrastructure.
What Will Make My Application Stronger?
It is highly encouraged that you put your tourism-infrastructure project on the Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP) under the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) of New Mexico.

Projects on ICIP as well as tourism-infrastructure projects on our New Mexico Tourism Department Tourism Infrastructure Dashboard will be prioritized.
