Atomic City Transit was awarded a grant to purchase two electric busses. The $1.5 million dollar grant comes from the Federal Transit Authority, who award funding to projects that promote Zero-Emissions public transportation. Los Alamos county expects to have the first bus online in 2019, with the second to follow in 2020. The Atomic City is setting an example for transit systems everywhere by making a sustainable investment in both their emissions and public transportation planning.
