Every summer, the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance sends young people interested in careers in conservation out into the field to do trail maintenance, scientific studies, and more.NM Wilderness Alliance is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that works to protect public lands and encourage New Mexicans to volunteer to keep their public lands beautiful. The Wilderness Ranger Program has been particularly successful; it draws in talented and motivated individuals to do summer work and volunteers to help them. If you are an avid hiker you can sign up to help them with "solitude monitoring", trail maintenance, or hike with a ranger.
