During the summer, daily scheduled interpretive talks, daily guided tours, and living history programs are offered. Commercial and school groups numbering ten or more, interested in a formal guided tour, are encouraged to make advanced reservations. A 1.25 mile, self-guided interpretive trail enables visitors to tour the ruins. Visitors may opt to do a shorter .5 mile self guided tour. Adventure into Fort Union's History in special events filled with guest speakers, living history encampments, cannon and musket firing demonstrations, and guided tours that reflect the diversitry of natural, cultural, and military resources of the fort and surrounding area. July 9 - 10, 2015: Junior Ranger Camp -- EXPLORE. LEARN. PROTECT. Become a Junior Ranger! July 9 ( ages 7-9), July 10 (ages 10-12), 10:00AM - 4:00PM. Geared towards the youngest of our visitors, the Junior Ranger Camp is an all-day exploration of Fort Union's unique cultural, natural, and military aspects. Each camp in limited to 30- please call to make a reservation. Enrollment will begin June 1, 2015. August 8, 2015: Candlelight Tours Step out under the stars and witness historically based vignettes which bring to life the stories of Fort Union's past. Tour tours are limited to 20 per tour so please call ahead to reserve your spot. Reservations will be taken beginning July 1, 2015. Tour times TBA.
