Mesa Public Library and White Rock Branch Library in Los Alamos County Library System, offer a full slate of events and programs year round for patrons and visitors too. *The dedicated gallery at Mesa Public Library in a stunning builiding designed by AIA gold medal winner Antoine Predock, features a wide range of traveling museum exhibits,cutting edge installations, work by local artists, and exhibits by local cultural and educational institutions such as the Santa Fe Opera, University of New Mexico, and New Mexico Highlands University. *The monthly Authors Speak Series,whcih occurs on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm features the best of New Mexico's authors in all genres from Jimmy Santiago Baca to Lucy Lippard, Michael McGarrity to Rina Swentzell. *Both libraries offer film series. White Rock Branch has the Family Friendly Film Series on the 3rd Thursday of each month from Sept. through May and weekly during the summer. Kids can come with their pillows and enjoy the movie in a relaxed atmosphere at White Rock Town Hall. *Local poet Jane Lin facilitates the Poetry Gatherings series for all poetry lovers. All participants are invited to read their own work and receive supportive feedback, read their favorite poems, or just listen. All ages welcome. *Youth programs include the hugely popular Music, Movement, and Stories (M&Ms) for babies and toddlers 0-5 and their adults. No language barriers here, just music, movement, and lots of fun for all!
