STEPOLOGY's annual Santa Fe Tap Festival features New Mexico and visiting performing artists from across the country in a world-class concert performance at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. Today’s tap stars from Broadway, film, and the concert stage join for an unforgettable concert at the Lensic, which uniquely captivates concertgoers of all ages, and infuses this treasured American art form with the energy, rhythms, and velocity of modern day life. The cast routinely inludes a crème de la crème selection of today’s tap artists, such as Music Director Channing Cook Holmes (Riverdance, Gangs of New York, Bojangles), Festival Director John Kloss (Tap Heat), Mark Mendonca (The Polar Express; Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk), Jason Rodgers (Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk), Sam Weber (Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood), among others. The concert also features completely live music and stellar peformances from guest artists in a variety of genres, including Special Musical Guest Bert Dalton, as well as Elise Gent and D'Jeune D'Jeune African Dance Ensemble. The end result is an evening’s concert of genre-bending performances of live music and dance, most of which are world premieres and unique to that “moment” in Santa Fe. The Santa Fe Tap Festival also includes workshop classes hosted by National Dance Institute of New Mexico at NDI’s Dance Barns, where STEPOLOGY also provides ongoing tap instruction throughout the year.
