The US Southwest Soaring Museum, located in Moriarty New Mexico, is one of two museums that focus on the history of gliding in the United States. The museum is a member of the Soaring Society of America. Its collection of aircraft is made up of first in flight and glider models, with many dating back many years. In 2017 the museum inducted the “Hall of Legends” to recognize individuals, from the Southwest United States, who were pioneers in the art of soaring. Summer hours (May – October) are from 9 am to 4 pm or by appointment Monday through Saturday. Winter hours (November – April) are from 10 pm to 3 pm Monday and Wednesday or by appointment Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Children 6 and under are free.
