Zuni Pueblo was the place of First Contact in the Southwest with the arrival in 1540 of Conquistador Coronado. The community is a village of artists with over 80% of the population producing arts in silver work, stone "fetish" carving, pottery, and many others. Our six arts trading posts offer authentic Zuni arts and from the Southwest region. Take a tour to the historic Spanish mission or walking tour of the original Middle Village pueblo. Tours to the archaeological sites of Hawikku (place of first contact) or Village of the Great Kivas (a Chacoan outlier) are available.
