Nature was clowning when she created the City of Rocks. You know she had a lot of fun dreaming up those giant stone roly-polys and those fantastically humorous animals for her rock menagerie. Then she decided to be practical and toss in a few bathtubs, a throne, and a couple of chairs. The City of Rocks, lying in a sunny desert spot, is an often-visited winter picnic place. If the January sun is too warm, there are live oak trees for shade and shadows of big boulders spaced about in street-like precision.
