The New Mexico True Dark Skies Trail features many events throughout the year for our visitors to enjoy. These “star parties” are family-friendly, free and open to the public, usually taking place at one of our State Parks or National Monuments/Parks. With the exception of full moon hikes/lectures, the star parties generally happen around the new moon.
New Mexico State Parks is celebrating our Dark Skies with a designated Dark Skies week from April 13-20. Experience some of the best night sky viewing opportunities in the country through these events that connect us to the outdoors in New Mexico!
