International travel trade is a major opportunity for the Land of Enchantment. Visitation by overseas markets grew by five percent in 2016 and this visitor spends five times more, on average. International tourists are seeking adventure travel and are highly interested in culinary tourism, cultural heritage, National Parks, Route 66 and Native culture. We are perfectly poised to take advantage of this opportunity as partners in New Mexico True – Adventure that Feeds the Soul. Here's how you can get in on this market with us:
1.) Itinerary Inclusion
Suggest your destination be included on a uniquely New Mexican tour route. The department's PR and Tourism Development Teams will be creating itineraries to promote to group tour operators at IPW and similar travel trade shows. These multiple-day itineraries will feature destinations and accommodations in different themes.
National and State Parks
Recommend your destination or accommodations be featured in an itinerary by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 16, 2018. Have a great itinerary idea? Email us and let us know.
2.) Join Us at IPW
Increasing visitation and inviting venturesome travelers to New Mexico is something we are all keen on, but have you ever thought about reaching across the borders to an international market?
As announced a couple months ago, New Mexico True wants to share an opportunity with you at IPW – a travel trade show and the largest generator of travel to the U.S. It will be held May 19-23 in Denver. IPW is the largest travel trade show in the country, connecting over 2,300 buyers and sellers and generating $4 billion in future travel.
One of the partners who opted-in has two spots that they are looking to sell ($2700 each, $5400 for both). You save more than 50% off regular IPW rates by taking this opportunity and joining the New Mexico True booth.
Please contact Aimee Awonohopay if you have questions to attend IPW or want to learn more about international travel trade. She can also be reached at (505) 690-8647.
