Since the grand reopening, the Jemez Springs Bath House, owned by the Village of Jemez Springs, has enjoyed a 20% increase in customers (671 from May 10-June 10 compared to 538 for that time period in 2018). Many customers say that they love how fresh and clean this "house of healing waters" feels with the improvements.
“The Bath House’s indoor renovation has been a long time coming and we couldn’t be happier with the clean look and relaxed atmosphere, while maintaining the integrity of the historic building,” said Mayor Sweet. “We especially would like to thank Rep. Christine Chandler and former Rep. Stephanie Garcia Richard for making this possible by securing funding for the Bath House improvements."
Along with Rep. Chandler and Land Commissioner Garcia-Richard, Sandoval County Director of Business and Economic Development, Dora Dominguez, attended the grand reopening event which took place on May 18. The Bath House also hosted a Spring Renewal Fair in the Plaza to celebrate the event.
Improvements range from reparation and resurfacing of tubs, ceilings, and flooring to replacement of the heating and cooling system, among many others. The eight-tub facility includes a gift shop with handmade bath items, along with spa services including herbal wraps, hot springs mineral soaks and more.
