New Mexico Magazine took home seven awards at the 37th annual International Regional Magazine Association (IRMA) awards held October 16 in Banff, Alberta, Canada, including the Gold Award in the Annual Publication category for the 2016 New Mexico True Adventure Guide (pictured above). Regular contributor David Pike earned a Silver Award as the Magazine Writer of the Year. Peter PG Shoemaker also earned a Silver Award in the Historic Feature category for his May 2016 piece, “Creator of Creators.” July 2016’s “Lowriders: Riding High” by Don J. Usner won Bronze Awards in both Art and Culture Feature and Portrait Series categories, and June 2016’s “Old Man River” by John Muller took the Bronze Award in the Profiles category. “Neo Santa Fe” (January 2016) by John Muller earned an Award of Merit in the Travel Feature category.
