Beginning Friday, Nov. 27, the New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) will be launching an in-state holiday campaign to encourage residents to share in New Mexico’s unique holiday traditions from the comforts of home.  Due to the virus, this holiday season will be different.  As New Mexicans celebrate from home this year, it is more important than ever to continue New Mexico’s unique holiday traditions and support local small businesses.

“While 'home for the holidays' has a different meaning in 2020, New Mexicans can share the holiday spirit through online experiences and buying friends and family gifts online from local small businesses,” Cabinet Secretary Jen Paul Schroer said.

www.NewMexico.org/holidays includes opportunities to buy holiday gifts from local businesses, find traditions old and new, experience seasonal recipes, and explore virtual tours, all while staying close to home. With online purchase options, the site features two holiday gift guides and a limited-edition holiday traditions gift box.

The holiday traditions gift box includes an assortment of New Mexico True Certified products and will be available for purchase on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28 for $95.00 and will ship nationwide. Only a limited supply of holiday traditions gift boxes will be available, so individuals are encouraged to buy early.

“These limited-edition holiday tradition gift boxes are a great way to boost the profile of New Mexican merchants, artists and entrepreneurs during a time when the small business community needs support,” Schroer said.
