ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – (July 10, 2019) – Visit Albuquerque is thrilled to announce that Brittney Flores, the organization’s Interactive & Graphic Designer, has been named one of Destinations International’s 30 Under 30 recipients for 2019.
She will be among a select group of 30 individuals, each 30 years of age and younger, who will be honored at Destinations International’s annual convention in St. Louis, Mo., this month. The award recipients will have the opportunity to engage in professional development opportunities throughout 2019 and beyond. The honorees originate from a variety of destination organizations of all sizes and countries.
"To be recognized and nominated by my team and by leadership was an honor in itself, and I am truly honored and humbled to have been named a 30 Under 30 recipient for 2019,” said Flores. “I am excited to be a part of the growth of both Visit Albuquerque and Destinations International, and I look forward to continuing to grow within the travel and tourism industry."
“Visit Albuquerque is beyond proud to have Brittney on our team, along with the talent, creativity and significant contributions she brings to the organization,” said Tania Armenta, President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque. “To be represented as a graphic designer in the 30 Under 30 class is an exceptional accomplishment, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”
“The 30 Under 30 program remains critical to our organization’s vision and mission,” said Don Welsh, President & CEO of Destinations International, which is recognized as the world's largest and most reliable resource for destination organizations. “The future of the travel and tourism industry remains dependent on today’s young professionals, and the Foundation continually invests in the leaders of tomorrow through professional development and mentorship opportunities. We look forward to connecting with the 30 future leaders at this year’s Annual Convention, throughout 2019 and their careers.”
Flores has served as Visit Albuquerque’s Interactive & Graphic Designer since 2015, and graduated from the Southwest University of Visual Arts in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. She uses her passion for design to create bold imagery and vibrant collateral that helps to attract visitors to Albuquerque—her hometown. She is also a native of the Pueblo of Isleta, and enjoys being able to educate others about her culture and the importance of diversity, which was a central focus of the stellar video she submitted as part of her entry.
