Kim Donoghue joins the New Mexico Tourism Department as the Marketing Coordinator for New Mexico Magazine. Kim started her career as a journalist, cutting her writing chops at CNN, Thomson Reuters and a business newspaper before entering the marketing and communications field. She worked as a digital marketing manager for higher education institutions in Rhode Island and Missouri before making New Mexico her home. She holds two Masters’ degrees in journalism and sustainability.

Q: What do you like, so far, about working for the Tourism Department? 
A: Everyone has been very friendly and helpful!

Q: What do you hope to accomplish for the tourism industry as a member of Team True and the New Mexico Magazine
A: Increase readers of the New Mexico Magazine and attract new visitors to the state.

Q: What is your favorite New Mexican dish?
A: Any dish that comes with chile on the side. I’m a heat wimp.

Q: What is your favorite thing about New Mexico? 
A: Mountains in my backyard.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Rock climbing, cooking, dogs, visiting national parks and monuments

Q: What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics? 
A: Crew (as a coxswain)
