Adams brings prior public and private sector experience to NMTD executive team

The New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) has hired Lancing Adams to serve as Tourism Development Director, bringing years of experience from the public and private sectors to the NMTD leadership team.

Adams will rejoin NMTD as Tourism Development Director after having served as Finance Director for the department from 2012 – 2015. While in this position, Adams managed the department’s budget and helped secure funding for tourism infrastructure projects throughout the state.

“Lancing brings leadership experience and a wealth of tourism industry knowledge that will help our team rebuild our tourism economy” Cabinet Secretary Jen Paul Schroer said.

“I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to return to the New Mexico Tourism Department and I am personally committed to supporting the hard-working and resilient members of our tourism community,” Adams said.

After his first tenure with NMTD, Adams joined the New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department (CYFD) to serve as Deputy Director of Operations.

Most recently, Adams served as Assistant Commissioner for the Arizona Department of Real Estate where he managed three divisions and oversaw all regulatory affairs regarding Arizona real estate.

Adams will officially join NMTD on Jan. 4, 2021.
