Be a part of history as Governor Susana Martinez, Secretary Rebecca Latham, and representatives from the Rio Grande Trail Commission and U.S. Department of Interior cut the ribbon for a new segment of the new Rio Grande Trail. This historic event and news conference coincides with the 50th anniversary of the National Trails Act on October 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, 10 miles northwest of Taos.
The Rio Grande Trail Commission was established in 2015 to create a recreational trail that runs parallel to the Rio Grande from the Texas to Colorado borders of New Mexico. This occasion celebrates outdoor recreation and it’s importance to tourism in New Mexico.
Following the ribbon cutting, you are invited to the FY19 second quarter Tourism Commission meeting at El Monte Sagrado (317 Kit Carson Rd, Taos, NM) at 1:00pm. Agenda to follow
