There are more than five billion searches in Google every day, and the Maps app has more than one billion users worldwide. These products, which comprise an entire ecosystem of travel information, have become increasingly influential for consumers — both travelers and locals alike.
This program, known as the Google-DMO Partnership Program, is a joint effort between New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) and Miles Partnership, a digital marketing consultancy specializing in travel and tourism.
The New Mexico Tourism Department was the first state agency in the nation to roll out the Google My Business Educational Workshop series for the statewide tourism and hospitality industry. Each workshop shared tips and best practices on how businesses can optimize exposure within Google’s products and improve conversion of digital audiences to actual customers.
During each of 12 in-person workshop, Miles Partnership provided tactical training and how-to documents covering tips and best practices for getting the most of opportunities within Google My Business. Topics covered include:
All live sessions were conducted in 2020 but the quest to maximize views and perceptions of New Mexico's business community continues.
