SANTA FEJust in time for Memorial Day Weekend, the New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) published its annual New Mexico True Certified Summer Gift Guide.

The 2024 New Mexico True Certified Summer Gift Guide features a record 106 locally-made and grown goods. Shoppers will be able to find goods ranging from jewelry, home décor, personal care, fine art, apparel, pottery, snacks and more.

“The New Mexico True Certified program has become one of our most popular programs because it allows us to extend the New Mexico True brand to businesses who wish to highlight their locally-made goods for shoppers,” said Acting Secretary Lancing Adams. “Publishing and promoting these gift guides is a great way to show people who like to shop local that New Mexico is home to a talented and creative small business community.”

Since the founding of the program, roughly 450 products and goods now display the label of “New Mexico True Certified.” During the 2023 holiday shopping season, NMTD implemented a first-ever shop local campaign centered on the New Mexico True Certified brand. The campaign included a special section in the December issue of New Mexico Magazine, an online catalog and an in-state advertising campaign that ran through social media, streaming channels and local broadcast. The campaign generated over 12,000 referrals to program partner websites. According to a survey of participants in the 2023 holiday gift guide campaign, nearly 32,000 goods featured in the campaign were sold during the holiday shopping season.
